Our Inner Child Soy Candles are hand made in small batches, and each of our tumbler candles should last 40 to 50 hours of burning. Soy candles do require a little attention to get the best results.
Your First Burn
Soy wax has a memory and will only burn as far as it is allowed to burn during its first burn. The first time you burn your candle, let the melted wax melt long enough to reach the edges of the container. If you don’t, it will begin to tunnel and not burn correctly.
Pay Attention to Your Wick
Keep your wicks trimmed, so there is no more than 1/4 inch sticking up from the wax before you light it. While burning, a “mushroom” may form at the top of the wick. Remove it before the next time you light the candle. These mushrooms can cause a high flame and soot on the container which can easily be removed from the glass with a paper towel after you have extinguished the candle and allowed it to cool.
Save Your Breath
Do not blow your candle out as you could splash hot wax and risk injury putting your face that close to a flame. Use a snuffer to snuff out your candle or dip the wick into the wax to extinguish the flame and then straighten it back out again.
Wabi-sabi is a Japanese idea of embracing the imperfections in life. Inconsistencies and minor flaws happen, this includes our candles. You may find the tops of some of our candles are a bit pitted, or you will notice spots along the glass where the wax did not adhere correctly to the container. Rest assured that these inconsistencies do not affect the quality or performance of your Inner Child candle.
